Best practice is not a plateau, it is an ongoing journey. The challenge is providing top notch patient care, while meeting the bottom line. Our Knowledgebase gives you the tools to navigate the journey.
mmp|BENCH is the resource our members turn to daily for best practice information. With BENCH they can access a broad scope of member and industry-based information.
Every member hospital department completes a questionnaire on functional areas that tells the real story about how the service is delivered. That data resides in the website, and is accessible by members. The operational and clinical characteristics are in themselves a wealth of information. When coupled with departmental performance data, and compared across several hospitals, a new level of insight is gained about how that department operates and meets its performance goals.

Members have immediate access to the BENCH Knowledgebase. There is not a usage fee, or a limitation to the number of seats assigned to a member hospital. Searches can be done by key word, by document type, by department or area. If there is a question related to the search, members can always call for assistance. mmp|BENCH takes pride in its exemplary customer service.
The lists of job titles and FTEs found in the Knowledgebase are a powerful tool for pediatric managers. From Anatomic Pathology to Speech-Language Pathology, this list includes details such as skill mix, % of management time, whether positions are hourly or salary, the reporting relationships, and whether the position crosses over into other departments.
Each year one or two topics emerge as critical enough to merit a focused investigation. These topics are selected by the BENCH coordinators with research facilitated by mmp|BENCH. After gathering data and other resources including comprehensive member surveys, a white paper is produced. This is distributed to members and filed in the Knowledgebase.
