Started in 1992, the mission of the mmp|BENCH benchmarking project is to improve pediatric health care by championing best practices and fostering performance improvement. With its unrivaled pediatric data and knowledge base, BENCH sets the standard for excellence.
"There is no question about the value of mmp|BENCH. The charts and data are perfect tools for reviewing performance with my executive and management team."
Larry Gold
British Columbia Children's Hospital
The sole focus of BENCH is pediatric performance improvement. The data gathered and shared covers the full span of in-patient pediatrics, from Administration to Volunteers, with Asthma, Child Life, Hematology-Oncology, Social Work, and scores of other functions in between.
ChartBuilder tracks data on a broad number of indicators covering every aspect of pediatric care. It is a performance improvement suite, and an invaluable benchmarking tool. Easy to use, and highly customizable, ChartBuilder gives users the ability to create a personalized dashboard in the My Charts section. Here charts specific to a department or user can be created with selected indicators; charts comparing with other participating hospitals also can be created. Each quarter, these charts-including the custom designed ones-are automatically updated with new data submission.
With ChartBuilder, data can tell the story behind the performance.
mmp|BENCH is the resource our members turn to most often when they need pediatric information. To that end, we work to ensure that the data and information are easy to use and accessible to all stakeholders. Our customer service is unparallel in the industry-we endeavor to leave no question unanswered by the end of business on the day it was raised.
Three inter-related tools form the core of BENCH. ChartBuilder captures data on approximately 150 indicators, focused on cost (productivity and financial), quality (outcomes), and speed (waiting times).
The Knowledgebase, is a dynamic on-line library of pediatric healthcare resource, and Networking creates a strong link among members who share best practice information through a variety of venues.
Since its inception, BENCH has been led and facilitated by mmp|BENCH, and designed by the participating hospitals. Members are involved in all aspects-the selection of indicators, the refinement of clinical and operational characteristics, the presentation of topics covered in discussion threads, conference calls, and surveys, It is a learning , participative community focused 100% on pediatric care.
